It gives us a great pleasure to invite you to PEDAC'2009 to be held on the land of the Pharaohs, where the past meets the present and aims for the future, the 9th conference on production engineering, design, and control will take place in Alexandria , Egypt , from February 10 - 12, 2009.

Since the first conference in 1980, PEDAC has been one of the major conventions in its field. It attracts scholars and industrialists from Egypt and abroad.

PEDAC'2009, organized by the Department of Production Engineering , Faculty of Engineering , Alexandria University , is an excellent opportunity for researchers and professionals to exchange their ideas, gain insight from industry leaders. The aim of PEDAC'2009 is to provide an up-to-date state of the art in the area of production and industrial engineering, design, and control. The conference can be seen as a forum for presentation and critical discussion of research results and applications carried out at Universities, Research Institutions and Industry. During the conference, a number of panel discussions and workshops will be conducted. An attractive social program for spouses will be organized as well.

PEDAC'2009 is an enormous opportunity for international exchange of technical views as well as strengthening the links between national and international industry and academic institutions.

All abstracts and final papers will be published in the conference proceedings in CD format. Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their work for review and potential publications in TheAlexandriaEngineeringJournal(AEJ) : An International Journal
